ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (PARLIAMENTARY LIAISON OFFICER):ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES REF NO: DHET28/08/2022

SALARY : R382 245 per annum (Level 09)

REQUIREMENTS : An fantastic bachelor’s degree/national diploma (NQF degree 6) in Public Management, Office Management, or an equal qualification. A minimal of three (3) to 5 (5) years of ride in the Parliamentary environment/administration in the workplace of government authority. Computer literacy (proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint – potential to draft or edit PowerPoint presentations). Sound interpersonal skills. High ranges of reliability, confidentiality and diplomacy and Managerial skills. Professional; Able to deal with humans from a huge vary of backgrounds and stages of seniority; Committed and Loyal.

DUTIES : Coordinate Parliamentary Questions: Receive query papers for oral and written replies from Parliament; Identify questions relevant/directed to the Department; Send questions to the applicable branches with an indication of due dates for submitting responses to the Office of the DG; Create a desk on the status of questions for monitoring purposes, each top notch and tabled questions; Receive responses from branches, edit and print, copy, scan and post the response to Ministry; Update the desk for reporting in Senior Management meetings. Coordinate Parliamentary Committee meetings: Receive a listing of the parliamentary committee and oversight visits; Create a draft programme of committee conferences such as oversight visits with due dates for submitting presentations; Receive the presentation, edit the place feasible earlier than sending them to the Chief Director and Director-General for approval and authorized variations despatched to Ministry / Parliament; Coordinate the attendance of Departmental/delegations at Parliamentary conferences legislation briefings and oversight visits etc.; Attend Parliamentary Committee conferences and oversight visits and collect reviews the place applicable; Send the tabled responses to Communications for updating DHET website. Support the DG in parliamentary work: Receive announcements, Tabling’s and Committee Reports every day and perceive troubles that have an effect on the Department; Send to the branches and request inputs in responding to the hints made; Compile the inputs obtained from branches and edit the place possible; Prepare Ministerial submissions to desk the responses; Process correspondents from Parliament that comes thru the Office of the DG; Send to the applicable branches for consideration. Assist on Cabinet matters: Receive examine Cabinet archives and discover problems that have an effect on the Department, Memorandum, Agenda and Minutes; Ensure that Cabinet files are saved in a tightly closed vicinity and Prepare documents for the DG when attending Cabinet Lekgotla. Provide supervisory function to the Senior Administrative Clerk.
