ASSISTANT DORECTOR: WOODLANDS & INDIGENEOUS FORESTMANAGEMENT REF NO: FOM25/2022

REQUIREMENTS : Applicants ought to be in possession of a National Diploma or Bachelor Degree (NQF degree 6) in Forestry or applicable equal qualification inside associated discipline coupled a minimal of three (3) years’ trip in Indigenous Forest management. Knowledge in the legislation of National Forests Act, 1998 (Act No.84 of 1998), National Veld and Forest Fires Act,1998 (Act No. one zero one of 1998) Knowledge of applicable Environmental Legislations and insurance policies impacting on the forestry sector. Knowledge of authorities administrative techniques (PFMA and treasury regulations). Skills in management and indigenous wooded area management. Strategic and analytical questioning skills. Conceptual and problemsolving skills. Computer literacy and verbal exchange skills. Ability to work
individually and in a team. Ability to interpret applicable policies and have an impact on improvement of splendid policies. Ability and willingness to work beneath pressure, after hours and on weekends.

DUTIES : The profitable incumbent will furnish inputs in the improvement of principles, criteria, indicators, and requirements for sustainable administration of indigenous forests, Provide enter in the improvement of scientific woodland administration guidelines, norms, nice practices and help to the areas and key stakeholders. Add fee to the improvement of countrywide and regional strategies and programmes for sustainable administration of woodlands and indigenous forests. Provide technical inputs to countrywide legislations and policies. Support the implementation of policies, strategies, and programmes. Advise stakeholders (internal and external) on policies, protocols, guidelines and tips and draft policies. Implement conservation planning and compliance in line with country wide and global biodiversity administration frameworks. Coordinate and take part in the protection and rehabilitation of precedence forests. Support the implementation of rehabilitation programmes for degraded country indigenous forests and woodlands. Develop, maintain, and reveal the implementation of indigenous wooded area administration plans for country forests. Provide technical inputs in the overview of blanketed tree list. Conduct the Principle, Criteria, Indicators and Standards (PCI&S) self-audits. Conduct
ecological woodland monitoring and research. Capture and analyze statistics and help the improvement of geo-database and maps. Identify wooded area lookup wishes and facilitate research. Participate in the law of wooded area licenses and permits. Exercise administration and oversee administration of infrastructure. Supervise team of workers praise of the district.
