Requirements :
Grade 10-11(authentic college report)/Grade 12 certificates or equal qualification. Knowledge of laundry/linen offerings and stitching will be an introduced advantage. Good conversation and inclined to work in a team, understanding of Batho Pele Principles. Must be capable to work of a bodily nature; be organized to rotate inside the scope of work. Must be organized to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Duties :
Collection and shipping of linen baggage from distinctive wards of the hospital. Operate quite a number machines in the laundry (i.e. washing, dryer and pressers. Iron, fold, count number and pack laundered gadgets and seal linen/clothes bags. Collect and supply linen/clothes to wards. Sort, be counted and report soiled linen/clothes. Tying and labelling of soiled linen bags. Mend torn linen. Partake in linen stock counting and cleansing of linen trolleys. Ensure that linen shipping checklists are signed through the wards. Assist in different linen part responsibilities per request of supervisors. Execute directions with the aid of supervisor/management. Demonstrate sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards and practices. Perform different obligations as allotted by means of the supervisor. Be inclined to bear non-stop coaching and improvement programs. Attend conferences and coaching as accredited by way of the supervisor. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, quarterly critiques and ultimate assessment).
