Job Advert Summary
Rand Water is searching for a dynamic and technically able Group Reporting Accountant to be part of its Finance Division. The best candidate will be accountable for handing over well timed and correct consolidated monetary statements throughout the Group and its entities. This function requires robust technical accounting knowledge, compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), PFMA, VAT legislation, National Treasury reporting frameworks, and the capability to liaise with inner and exterior auditors. The profitable candidate should have notable interest to detail, trip with SAP and CaseWare, and convey a collaborative method to partnering with commercial enterprise gadgets and auditors.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Degree in Accounting or Finance (NQF 7)
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
  • Professional registration (e.g., CA(SA), PA(SA)) is an advantage
  • Minimum 3–5 years of ride in a Financial Reporting environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – SAP (FI Module) experience; Caseware publicity and journey with National treasury templates is advantageous
  • Solid perception of PFMA, VAT Act, IFRS, and NT Reporting Framework

Primary Duties
1 . Preparation of separate and consolidated of monetary statements

  • Prepare separate and consolidated economic statements in accordance with IFRS, PFMA, and different relevant regulations, along with inputs to the Integrated Annual Report.
  • Ensure well timed submission of correct monetary reviews to stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Implement disclosure enhancements based totally on JSE Proactive Monitoring and IFRS updates.
  1. Trial Balance Management and Review
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of trial stability for the employer and subsidiaries.
  • Review and approve SAP Trial Balance structural changes.
  1. Financial Compliance and Internal Controls
  • Ensure adherence to the Accounting Policy Manual and inner manipulate procedures.
  • Assess and replace compliance techniques to mirror regulatory changes.
  1. Business Partnering and Financial Advisory
  • Partner with commercial enterprise devices to furnish accounting practise and guide decision-making.
  • Respond to complicated economic queries with IFRS-aligned solutions.
  1. Budgeting and Expenditure Monitoring
  • Participate in budgeting methods and screen overall performance towards the budget.
  • Analyse and provide an explanation for finances variances.
  1. Audit Management and Assurance Support
  • Lead audit readiness initiatives and help each inside and exterior audits.
  • Coordinate audit documentation and responses to findings.
  1. Strategic and Operational Reporting Projects
  • Drive monetary reporting enchancment initiatives and IFRS implementations.
  • Align reporting consequences with Group Finance strategy.
  1. Policy Management and Continuous Improvement
  • Update and speak modifications to the Accounting Policy Manual.

  • Identify, assess, and file economic reporting risks.

  • Maintain audit-ready digital and guide records.
  • Ensure compliance with document retention policies.

Knowledge
In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
