Requirements
Applicants should have:
Grade 12
Appropriate qualification at NQF Level 6 in Animal Health or equal qualification regarded by using SAQA
Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council as an Animal Health Technician
Valid driver’s licence (except for individuals with disabilities)
Knowledge and Skills
Candidates ought to possess:
Excellent interpersonal and conversation skills
Negotiation skills
Time management skills
Computer literacy
Report writing skills
Knowledge of:
Animal Diseases Act, 1984 (Act 35 of 1984)
Animal Identification Act, 2002 (Act 6 of 2002)
Meat Safety Act, 2000 (Act forty of 2000)
Disease manage programmes and eradication schemes
PFMA
Duties
Successful candidates will:
Render Animal Health Regulatory Support Services
Implement sickness manipulate measures
Support State Veterinarians
Assist with extension offerings on animal health
Collect samples and aid with regulation enforcement
Populate databases
Compile month-to-month and quarterly reports
