Job Purpose
We are searching for a fairly expert Security Automation Engineer with a robust historical past in safety and talent in Python. The best candidate will have journey with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms. This position is accountable for designing, implementing, and retaining safety automation options to decorate our safety operations.
Job Responsibilities
Detecting, responding, and escalating automation issues, failures, such as fundamental scripting and statistics processing and Automation support
Design, develop, and keep safety automation scripts and equipment the use of Python.
Integrate protection equipment and structures with SOAR structures to automate incident response and hazard detection processes.
Collaborate with protection analysts and incident responders to perceive automation possibilities and improve safety workflows.
Develop and keep documentation for safety automation procedures and tools.
Collaborate with IT, compliance, and improvement groups to make sure automation aligns with commercial enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.
Stay up to date with the present day protection trends, tools, and applied sciences to continually enhance protection automation capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Python Programming: educated in writing clean, modular, and reusable code for automation and integration tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal exchange and collaboration skills.
- Automation mindset: capacity to discover repetitive duties and plan scalable solutions.
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Desirable (not required)
Experience with SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, Swimlane, etc.).
Familiarity with SIEM technologies such as Elastic Stack or others.
Knowledge of data handling techniques which includes ingestion, parsing, and transformation.
Exposure to data modelling concepts and how structured records helps safety analytics.
Explore and combine AI/ML abilities to decorate automation workflows and hazard detection.
Solid grasp of safety principles, practices, and technologies: Understanding of SOC workflows, incident response, and risk detection.
Experience integrating with APIs and third-party protection tools.
Minimum Experience Level
3-5 years of ride in Information Security
